A Better Deal:

A house is only worth what it's worth regardless of whether a real estate agent is involved or not.  So, a home that's worth $100,000 and offered for sale by a homeowner is still worth $100,000 if it's offered for sale by an agent.  The difference is ... a FSBO home has that additional 6-7% negotiation room.  

For example:  If a homeowner sells a $100,000 home for $98,000, the homeowner has made more profit when compared to paying a real estate agent $6,000 or $7,000 in commission.  AND, as an additional bonus, the buyer has saved $2,000 ... resulting in instant equity!

NO Commissions:

It's been said that a buyer doesn't pay the real estate commission.  Well... using the previous example, who really paid the commission?  Both the buyer and seller did.  The buyer in the form of a higher sales price, and the seller in the form of a reduced equity check.

Get What You Want:

You know what you want to buy better than anyone else.  And, you can look at prospective homes whenever  you want to.  Some agents show homes based on whether or not they are listed with their company and not based on whether the home suits the buyer's requirements.  And, before you know it, you could be looking at homes priced much higher than you wanted.

Cut Out The Middleman:

You're dealing directly with the owner.  The owner of a home knows more about their home than any real estate agent does.  They can answer questions about schools, shopping and how much the utility bills are.  They can tell you the neighborhood has get-togethers and cook-outs, who the neighborhood babysitter is, etc. AND, you don't have to play "telephone tag" with 2 or more agents to get your questions answered.
